Snails

Enjoy a selection of creative writing about snails.

What are snails? Are they fast? No they are slow.
Who are their predators? What do they do all day long?
Snails have hard shells, a slimy foot that leaves a trail wherever it goes.
Hiding in the shadows, sliding from place to place. Munching up your garden,

By Holly Lupton.

A snail leaves his trail on the window glass, but a bird is circling around.
The bird smacks the window and the snail is gone.
Wow that was fast! Never seen that before.
Another bird comes swooping and another snail is gone.

A snail leaves a slimy trail where ever it goes.
It is as slow as a bad day at school.
A sharp blade is no trouble to cross, slime will protect it.
A snail is smart. They can escape from an upside down cup.

By Isabel Pugh

A snail slides from place to place and has long eyes on its face.
Usually you can find them on the wall sleeping or hibernating.
It's up high to hide from hedgehogs, or under a rock to protect themselves from birds.
A snail goes slow, but is good at escaping!

Robotics Club

We have some budding engineers in Room 1.  On Wednesdays at lunch time Mrs Marshall is running a robotics club.  Those that have signed up have been put into groups and are working on following instructions, working as a team, problem solving and eventually controlling a robot that they have constructed themselves.  Enjoy some of the pictures below.  We will post more of the completed creations!

Ukulele- Thursday 15 May 2014

We were dancing because it was a good song to  dance to. The song was Ukulele
Heaven. It was a fun song to end the practices. with. We also had kazoo's to play along with for some song   That was fun too. We played 'Oh you beautiful doll' and 'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside'.
We made the dance up.  Molly and I decided that everyone who knew the song from last year should join in, as well as the new people.  The dance was like in a
Chinese festival dance, snaking around like they were a dragon.
I was at the front of the line with my friends Molly, Fleur, Toby, Natalia, Damon, Levi and lots of others.  Lachlan was playing the Ukulele.  So was mummy and Lachlan's mum.
