Explanation of How we Teach Maths.

Hello Parents

We often get told by parents, "I just don't understand maths anymore."
If you follow this link to N.Z. Maths and then open the power point presentation, hopefully you will get a better understanding of the strategy progressions. Good luck!

Then have a look at the Families Section link on the bottom of the same page for all sorts of useful ideas you can do at home, at the shops, while baking, getting gas, etc.

Who are their predators? What do they do all day long?
Snails have hard shells, a slimy foot that leaves a trail wherever it goes.

Robotics Club

We have some budding engineers in Room 1.  On Wednesdays at lunch time Mrs Marshall is running a robotics club.  Those that have signed up have been put into groups and are working on following instructions, working as a team, problem solving and eventually controlling a robot that they have constructed themselves.  Enjoy some of the pictures below.  We will post more of the completed creations!

Ukulele- Thursday 15 May 2014

We were dancing because it was a good song to  dance to. The song was Ukulele
Heaven. It was a fun song to end the practices. with. We also had kazoo's to play along with for some song   That was fun too. We played 'Oh you beautiful doll' and 'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside'.
We made the dance up.  Molly and I decided that everyone who knew the song from last year should join in, as well as the new people.  The dance was like in a
Chinese festival dance, snaking around like they were a dragon.
I was at the front of the line with my friends Molly, Fleur, Toby, Natalia, Damon, Levi and lots of others.  Lachlan was playing the Ukulele.  So was mummy and Lachlan's mum.
