Animals spend a day at school!!

The  Amazing Ag Day

On Saturday 18th October Dairy Flat School had Ag day which was annoying for some people because they had to come to school on a SATURDAY!

The kids at Dairy Flat School had to raise an animal like a goat, a calf or a lamb. They have to walk it around some posts and stop at the stop sign for ten seconds then go anticlockwise around the next post. After this the kids have to call their animal. Nearly all of the animals just stayed in the same place or they jumped over the fences and ran away!

After the kids walked and called their animals they had the rest of the day to have fun and buy yummy food. The donuts were awesome.  The cinnamon and sugar made your mouth water.  The kids mainly used their money for junk food like lolly pops and donuts. By the end of the day all of the kids looked sick.

The parade was amazing. Heaps and heaps of kids dressed up themselves and their animal and marched around the field. If they looked good enough they would win a prize, one of them won a bouncy ball! The prizes were endless. There were awesome prizes too, like earphones.

Last of all a band performed ‘We Will Rock wicked'. At the end of the day Tom Peppers said he felt amazing because he had had a very fun day!

Ag day at Dairy Flat School

On Saturday 18th October D.F.S held a festival called Ag day. Kids had to bring animals or a scarecrow. But it was on a SATURDAY at school!

The children had to bring a lamb, chicken or a calf and had to call them, lead them and dress them up like a pirate. There was 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. If you got a place you would get a ribbon with 1st,2nd and 3rd on it.

If they didn’t have an animal they could bring in a paver, scarecrow or Lego construction. They also had 1st, 2nd and 3rd but instead of getting a ribbon you got a certificate.

While that was going on the D.F.S instrument players played some boss beats.  Jacob.L thinks it was hard but fun.   Tom P., a D.F.S student can’t wait until next year because he had so much fun.
